We invite all Year 6 students of our district to attend our Transition Program, designed to allow students to experience life at Gilroy Santa Maria College, familiarise themselves with the College's facilities, and meet staff and other students. 

The Transition Program will be held on the following dates in 2025 (see flyers below for more information):

  • Year 7 Expo & Transition Day 1: Friday 15 May - 7.30am to 3.00pm (Parents and Carers stay until approx 10am)
  • Transition Morning 2: Friday 24 July - 8.30am to 11.30am
  • Transition Morning 3: Friday 28 August - 8.30am to 11.30am
  • Transition Morning 4: Friday 23 October - 8.30am to 11.30am
  • Orientation Day: Tuesday 1 December - 8.30am to 3.00pm (for students enrolled for 2027)
Programs for the Days:
Year 7 Expo + Transition Day 1:
  • From 7.30am - 8.45am - Interactive Subject Displays, chat with staff and students in the Santa Maria Centre - Free Breakfast & Coffee Van
  • 8.45am - 9.15am - "Welcome to Gilroy" Information Session for families, introduction to life at Gilroy  
  • 9.15am - 10.00am - College Tour
  • 10.00am - Parents/Carers depart
  • 10.00am - 3.00pm - Students stay & continue with Transition Day activities
Transition Days 2-4:

  • Arrive by 8:30am* - Students attend the registration tent

  • 8:45am to 11:00am - Rotation of activities in Year 6 groups - students will have exposure to exciting subject offerings and experience the high school routine. 

  • 11:00am to 11:30am - Morning tea 

  • 11:30am - Students return via bus to primary schools (must be pre-booked)

* Students are to be dropped off at M Block ... turn right as you enter the College grounds and follow the road past the Administration building.  Your child may also catch their regular bus to the College.  Please note that all students will be dropped back to their respective primary schools by bus at 11.30am.  If you plan to collect your child, please sign them out from the College Office.

More information regarding the Orientation Day at the end of Term 4 will be forwarded at a later date.
